Test screenings for Thunderbolts* have reportedly taken place, and the first details to emerge offer potential spoilers! Ghost actress Hannah John-Kamen also spoke about the villain's evolution... In recent weeks, it seems like the vast majority of MCU fans have gone from being disappointed by Thunderbolts*'s inaccurate team roster to acknowledging that it could be one of the best superhero movies of 2025. That much was clear from the recent D23 Brazil sneak peek, and now we have new information about the film thanks to a recent test screening.
While we can confirm that test screenings did take place, we suggest taking the following information with a grain of salt. However, @TheGeekyCast has proven to be a mostly reliable source for leaks like this in the past. First off, the reaction is said to have been very positive; As expected, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova stars in Thunderbolts*, with scenes at one point taking place in the Red Room. Ghost is said to have one of the film’s best action sequences, in a film full of surprising set pieces, while the tone is being compared to 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The Sentry has a neat suit, but in place of the huge “S” logo from the comics is the much smaller belt buckle from the teaser trailer. We imagine this is an attempt to differentiate the character from Superman (Bob’s boots have also been changed). Finally, and here’s where the spoilers come in, the leak claims that The Sentry actually becomes The Void during the final act of Thunderbolts*. This has long been rumored, and now it’s clear that this is a film that Marvel Studios is deliberately showing very little about. Why? To keep things surprising, for starters, but also because this is probably a much more important story for the larger Multiverse Saga than initially suspected.
Recall that several online scoops have claimed that the asterisk in the title stands for *New Avengers. In that regard, the Manila Times recently spoke with Ghost actress Hannah John-Kamen to learn more about the status quo of the Ant-Man and the Wasp villain in Thunderbolts*. “The last time you saw her, she was volcanic. She was fluttering to death and in pain,” she teased. “I would describe her as a raw nerve. She was in this battle. You found her in this constant survival mechanism, and now she’s in control of it.” “There’s a calmness to this, there’s a resolve, there’s a breathing and a powerful rhythm. So yeah, you’re going to see a different Ghost.”
