"I'm relieved that the filming that lasted for 10 months is over"

It has been revealed that filming has been completed for season 2 of the DC drama "Peacemaker," which depicts the popular character Peacemaker/Christopher Smith from "The Suicide Squad" (2021). James Gunn, the creator of this series, reported this on X/Twitter. Gunn posted a photo of John Cena playing the piano in what appears to be a hotel lounge and Jennifer Holland sitting on a sofa. "Filming for John Cena and Jennifer Holland in "Peacemaker" season 2 has been completed," he said, adding the caption,
"The two have given amazing performances as Christopher Smith and Emilia Harcourt this season, and yesterday was the most fun filming ever! Thank you to the wonderful people of Savannah, Georgia, for making the stay of the "Peacemaker" staff special. One more day to go!" Two days later, Gunn updated his X/Twitter again, posting a photo of himself with his arm around the cinematographer Sam McCurdy in a parking lot. "We've wrapped up filming on season two of The Peacemaker, including the last remaining cast members Steve Agee, Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez, and Brandon Stanley (pictured here is cinematographer Sam McCurdy after shooting the final scene).
I'd like to thank the entire cast and crew for this amazing experience. I'm taking a breather after 10 months of filming, but I'll miss you all," he wrote, announcing the end of filming. Agee, who Gunn mentioned, is a cast member who is reprising his role as John Economos. Meadows will play Langston Fleury, an agent of the government agency A.R.G.U.S., and Rodriguez will be making her debut as Sasha Bordeaux, but it's unclear what role Stanley will play. Perhaps he will play a mysterious character, perhaps an Apache Chief, as previously hinted at by Gunn?
Daniel Brooks as Leota Adebayo and Freddie Stroma as Vigilante/Adrian Chase will also be returning. Frank Grillo will be playing Rick Flag Sr., the father of the soldier Rick Flag played by Joel Kinnaman in the two Suicide Squad films, making his first appearance. David Denman from The Equalizer (2023) will also be joining the cast, although his role is unknown. Greg Mottola, who has worked on Superbad (2007), will also be involved as an episode director. Season 2 of "The Peacemaker" is scheduled to be released in the US on Max in August 2025.
